Car shopping
We have began the incredibly daunting task of searching for a new family vehicle. My van is in great condition and only has a whopping 20,000 miles on it! What can I say, we aren't world travelers! If it wasn’t for my five spaghetti legged boys insisting on growing like weeds, we might actually have gotten a few more years out of the “red rocket”.
So like I said we have started looking for a new family car…Little did I know it would be the most nerve wrecking and stressful event of my life! This one is too small, this one is too BIG, that one smells funny and I’m not sure what the heck is wrong with the next one!
Actually the whole conversation began when my husband decided he was going to purchase me a Mercedes Benz! That’s right…I’m a baller! No really, he thought it would be a great idea to trade the van in for their version of the SVU. You see, I’m turning 40 in a few weeks and my “go to” answer for the question “what would you like is…”World Peace” and “a Mercedes”. I never thought anyone would take me serious. After all, who in their right mind would put 2 armed sticky destruction vessels AKA CHILDREN inside such a beautiful machine…NOT ME! Besides, I don’t think I could give up automatic doors and easy to wipe seats!
We took the children to the first 2 dealerships…Alex likes the Mini-Cooper….well, I guess that would work if we sold the other 4 kids in the family. Emerson liked the Mercedes. He crawled right in and made himself at home(until I screamed….”Don’t put your sneakers on that seat!!!!!!!”)…hmmmm, NO! David likes the Suburban…but it’s the size of a bus and quite frankly I am only 5’2”(OK 5’1 1/3” but let’s not split hairs!). I like the YUKON but Austin suggested we get an Airplane instead!
I’m not exactly sure where this journey will take us but I’m sure it will be someplace BIG and scotchgaurded!
...Wish us luck!
